Twin Tank Conversion Information
The twin tank conversion I've decided to install is supplied by Dieselveg, who are based in Wolverhampton in the UK.
Following some discussions with Graham Stirling on the Difflock Forum I produced the diagram below to show the basic layout of the fueling systems once the Dieselveg kit has been installed in a 300Tdi powered Land Rover.

The kit forms a short cycle so that diesel isn't returned to the SVO tank. The diesel tank return is blanked. So, when running on diesel, fuel is drawn from the diesel tank, through the injectors and fed back before the lift pump so no excess pressure is built up. When you switch to SVO the valve in the diesel line is closed and the SVO valve is opened so that the un-burnt diesel re-circulates in the short loop until completely replaced with SVO. Same happens when you switch the other way but there is a return to the SVO tank to reduce the amount of time it takes to purge the system to diesel. The valves are switched via a "quick purge" relay to reduce the amount of time it takes to purge the short cycle. It also means that the fuel pump is only drawing enough to feed the short cycle (all that is needed to run) rather than constantly drawing from the tank which should help reduce wear in the pump.
